WIP Wednesday

Edward felt a knot in his chest as he gunned the Camaro around the corner to the little office where his paycheck was being held. The initial anxiety was always his favorite part of the chase. He didn't know what to expect from his prey, yet. He wondered if Cassandra would agree to dinner with him. The knot in his chest grew tighter and he almost couldn't breathe. The old engine protested as he shifted into neutral and turned the key off.

He forced himself to take a deep breath when the cool air from the office hit him in the face. Cassandra sat in her usual position behind the desk that couldn't hide her overpowering build.

So, it's a short one this week. I've not done a lot of writing and I'm hoping to pull out of the 'slump' soon. I know it's mostly a matter of self-discipline, but I'd rather say that it's because I'm busy. Although we all know that isn't an excuse. *sigh*

So, how is everyone doing? Are you sitting down to write every day like a good little writer? Do you have some discipline to hand down to me?

  1. I've been slumpin' a little too this week... Good mood, doing stuff, just not the stuff I should be doing. ;-)

  2. I've been slacking off with my writing this summer, but I'm ready to jump back in with both feet now that the kids are back at school. Lovely writing sample. Thanks for sharing.
