I've decided that today's post shouldn't show my prediliction for words. Thanks for bearing with the past few lengthy posts-it's one of the things I love about blogging. I can ramble every now and then. So, do you know what the word for Wednesday is?
PREDILICTION: established preference. Yup, so simple, yet it rolls so deliciously from the tongue. His prediliction for models sickened the short and plain Sarah. She's shown a prediliction for that line of clothing.
I actually forget about some of these yummy words and love to go back through manuscripts to see if I can insert one of them each time I stumble across it. It's a challenge, but sometimes it spices things up a bit.
Happy Writing!
My random thoughts on living life as a mother and a writer...or whatever may catch my attention for that day.

A New Favorite Word
Alright, I have a huge confession to make. I have been lacking in the vocabulary department for the past nine years of my life. Since I have had children, I found my interest in lengthy literary works of art has declined, and when I do have time to read, it is generally for entertainment and escape. Which is great, but sometimes we need to read to learn something new, to open our minds and eyes to new worlds....and new words.
I use iGoogle as my homepage which has a great way to organize only what you need to see on your page to keep from distractions. One of the additions on this is a word of the day. I think it's a great add on for my writing craft, especially because they do give you interesting words that you may or may not have ever heard of. Yesterday's word really gave me a good laugh, as I had never, ever heard this word used before, and yet the definition is so common!
CRAPULOUS: to be sick from or marked by excessive drinking
And to think, if I had heard someone just say, "Oh man, I am crapulous today!" I would have thought they made it up as a cross between CRAP and FABULOUS. I would have also been pretty jealous that they made up such a rockin' new word. However, it truly is in the dictionary as a real word. So far, it is my favorite, and I can't wait to use it in my novel. My MC's day begins crapulous and only gets crappier from there. :)
Have fun fellow writers!
