Real Life and Songwriting-Lyrics

I don't want to be the girl that laughs the loudest or the girl that never wants to be alone.
I don't want to be that girl at 4 o'clock in the morning 'cause I'm the only one you know in the world that won't be home.
The sun is blinding. I stayed up again. Oh, oh I am finding that's not the way I want my story to end.
I'm safe, up high, nothing can touch me. Why do I feel this party's over? No pain inside, you're my protection but how do I feel this good sober?

I don't want to be the girl that has to fill the silence. The quiet scares me 'cause it springs the truth. Please don't tell me that we had that conversation. I won't remember; save your breath what is the use?
Night is coming and it whispers to me softly, "Come and Play."
I, I am falling and if I let myself go I'm the only one to blame...

Another beauty and truth of songwriting is that it can be interpreted so many ways for so many different people and their different struggles in life. For me, this song helped me deal with something that had nothing to do with alcohol or drugs...rather an addiction to a bad life cycle. If that makes sense.

Even now, hearing it reminds me of the dark time I went through...and survived.

  2. Lived to tell the tale. At least to remember the tale, so as to NEVER go back to that dark place again. I love you Kristi! You got your awesome going now. Nothing can stop you. Don't forget it. Hey to the court jester and the lovely kids. Wish y'all were here to swim and ride horses. *hugs*
