A Few Thoughts for Thursday

Warning: Random Thoughts

My kids are so cool! Princess Rhiannon was part of a skit today that her class put on for the school. She was the only one who knew her lines and didn't have to read from a skit. Yesterday both Princesses won awards for their academic progress. The Young Prince is saying new words every day and he's learning to make facial expressions on purpose. It's the highlight of my days when he furrows his brows, or raises them and has a perfect O mouth as in, "WOW!"

It really angers me when people drive through school zones with a flashing light at the normal speed limit. Honestly, folks. I know we have jobs to get to and things to do, but if you run over a child walking to school or the unexpected ball runs into the street and they chase it....your day is going to be worse than if you were late. It only takes one time-and you don't know when that one time will be. SLOW DOWN

Smells have been speaking to me lately. When I drive BFF to work there is a spot along the road we travel where someone has planted multiple Honeysuckle bushes. It makes me smile every time we drive by and I inhale the scent. I have a scented candle called Sweet Pea and every time I burn it, the house reminds me of childhood. No idea why.

Hope everyone is having a great week. Sorry for the late and short post. It's been a busy week. Tomorrow is the last day of school for my princesses and I'm wayyyy behind!!

  1. I hear ya! This time of year is worse than December. So glad you're kids are doing well and that summertime is here! Oh, btw, you should call your police dept. and tell them about the speeders. Knoxville will earn some speeding ticket money and your kids will be safer. Enjoy your last week in school!

  2. Next door to my office is a bakery so everytime I go outside, I smell fresh bread.

  4. Oh I know! There is a school near me...on a pretty main road, very busy. Well, it slows from 45 to 35 in front of the school. Every single time I drive by, I slow down , but next to me, cars are flying by and behind they're right on my bumper.

One of my pet peeves is how a lot of people seem to think the stop sign halfway down my street is optional.

I love the scent of lilacs and when I go down south, I feel the need to stand next to a gardenia bush and sink my nose in!

  5. That is absolutely one of my greatest gripes; speeding through a school zone. Number two son almost died because of that very thing and I shudder everytime I remember his broken, twisted little body in a coma. I agree with Amy that you should report any and all speeders. You never know whose life you might save.

  6. You know what irks me even more? When people stop for school buses as an afterthought and get wayyy too close.

People are idiots. That's why I love animals more.
