Blast from the Past

In honor of retro week :0) Here are a few quotes and sayings I found scribbled all over an old notebook. Unfortunately I did not scribble who came up with said quotes....sorry!

"God is too big to fit into one religion"
He who discourages your dreams most likely gave up on his own.
Practice Random Acts of Kindness
Follow your dreams until they are real.
Lyric: My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies....Queen, The Show Must Go On
Save Our Country of Starving and Homeless Children FIRST
Peace (and the sign drawn everywhere)
Eternity (and the sign drawn everywhere)

As you can see I had my opinions and beliefs displayed on my notebooks for everyone to see. I had the makings of a great protester. What do you remember quoting or listening to as a teen?

  1. One of my favorites growing up in relation to your first one is in answer to anyone saying your weird, strange, etc. "I'm proud to be weird, why would I want to be a sheep?"

I've actually said this a lot, hmmm...

  2. I was a teen?! I don't think I can remember back that far! LOL!

    Have a great weekend! :-)

  3. What I remember hearing and what I signed up for were two different things. This is what I remember hearing A LOT:

Tune in. Turn on. and something else that I forget.

    Drugs, sex, rock and roll.

What I used to believe were left wing liberal things like:

All we are saying, is give peace a chance.

  4. @ My name is PJ -- Tune in, Turn on, Drop out. By Timothy Leary. (Yes, I am that old.)

I followed all the groovies, but never really wrote anything down. I was more action than writer back then. I protested a lot, and was totally into recycling (Earth Day and all that). I protested Viet Nam and wore flowers on all my clothes, with beads, and Peace signs.

    Fun post, brings me back.

  5. This was really neat!!! Who doesn't love to experience a little blast from the past!

Your spotlight on R.A.W. :0) I strive to respond if you have your email address attached!
